Community Heroes Walkway

Welcome to the Oak Lawn Community Heroes Walkway buy-a-brick donation page. This is an ongoing project to honor past and present veterans, police officers and firemen of Oak Lawn. The walkway is located adjacent to the Oak Lawn VFW Post and runs along the sidewalk at Yourell Drive west of 52nd Avenue and parallel with the Metra tracks.  

You can choose between two sizes of brick: the 4x8 size can be engraved with up to 3 lines of personalized text allowing for 18 characters per line and the 8x8 brick can be engraved with up to 6 lines of personalized text allowing for 18 characters per line. Optionally, you can also choose to add a number of logos and symbols on the 8x8 sized brick. (Click here to see the available logos and symbols) An 8x8 brick with a logo can be engraved with up to 4 lines of personalized text allowing for 18 characters per line. Each inscribed brick will become a permanent part of our Community Heroes Walkway and will commemorate your loved one’s service for years to come. The cost of each 4x8 brick is $75. An 8x8 brick cost $100 and an 8x8 brick with logo cost $110 .
