Please support on-going maintenance for
"The Passage"!
The Pinckney-to-27th Passage is made
possible through a grant by the Charlotte Urban Design Center. This Placemaking
Grant converted an unused street right-of-way into community asset for neighbors
and area businesses. Your Villa Heights Community Organization (VHCO) is
responsible for ongoing maintenance. Remember the Kudzu? Well, it will reappear
with vigor this Spring and in the future. It will take two-to-three years to
“manage” the kudzu’s reappearance. To help with that process, maintain the
plantings and other features of “The Passage”, VHCO is initiating a fund to pay
for basic maintenance costs.
Please consider purchasing one or more
bricks to recognize your family, children, pets and/or honor a loved one. Area
businesses are also invited to select a brick with their business logo. Please
note that pricing varies based on an individual's or business' current VHCO
membership status. So if you are not a member, consider joining today. And we
hope to see you at a future Community Meeting, second Monday of each month at
Free Range Brewing.
All proceeds from the Bricks will go towards a
developing a fund, with the intent of having interest from that fund be
sufficient to maintain the space when combined with volunteer community
workdays.
Brick orders will be aggregated to reduce shipping costs, Our
goal is to have the first delivery and possible initial installation by the
end of March 2026.
Plans call for the bricks to be installed on the the edge of the walkway between the share stations and the utility pole.
