The Episcopal Church
St. Luke’s is a part of The Episcopal Church in the United States and the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas. The Episcopal Church in the United States (episcopalchurch.org/what-we-believe) was formally organized in Philadelphia in 1789 as the successor to the Church of England in the American colonies. With approximately 1.9 million members, the Episcopal Church is a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion which represents more than 85 million people in more than 165 countries.
The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas (edod.org) comprises 77 congregations, 23 schools, and 48 commissions, agencies, and institutions in northeastern Texas.
