Honor, Remember, Rescue: Buy a Brick, Build Their Future!
Founded in 1969 by Gladine Wiles, a champion for unwanted and abused animals, Orphans of the Storm has grown into a thriving no-kill shelter, serving Armstrong County and beyond. Thanks to the amazing support of people like you, we are able to provide:
• Shelter and medical care for animals in need
• Adoption services that connect lovable dogs and cats with forever homes
• Low-cost spay/neuter services for pet owners in need
• A 24/7 drop-off site for local authorities to help animals in distress
• A pet food pantry for families experiencing hardships
• Humane education programs to promote compassionate and responsible pet care in the community
While Orphans of the Storm has made a profound impact over the last 55 years, the current facility has outgrown its usefulness and can no longer support the growing needs of the community and the pets we serve.
As we look forward to the next 50 years, we are building a new state-of-the-art shelter that will continue Gladine’s mission and bring her expanded vision to life.
You can be a part of this exciting new chapter!
Memorialize a loved one, honor a special pet, or recognize a unique organization by purchasing an engraved brick or bench that will become part of our new shelter’s patio, entranceway, or walking pathways.
With your support, Orphans of the Storm will continue to be a valuable resource for the community, helping both people and pets live their best lives.
Please consider purchasing a memorial today and make a lasting impact on the future of Orphans of the Storm!
Installation of your memorial brick will be the final step in the new shelter’s construction with anticipated completion in early 2026.
Add-on items including the certificate, souvenir bricks, and replica bricks will be shipped directly to you from Bricks R Us after your order is placed (price includes shipping and handling). The actual bricks and benches will be shipped to the Orphans of the Storm new building site in time for installation (early 2026 anticipated).
