Elkhart Northside Nazarene Community Playground Project

Play is an integral part of child development; yet, in our County Road 7 neighborhood, we are lacking appropriate and easily accessible places for our children to develop healthy habits through play, school-readiness through the exercise of large and small motor skills, and healthy social/emotional development through relationship building. Northside Nazarene has big dreams of being a blessing to our neighborhood by building a community playground on our campus, located at 53569 County Road 7, Elkhart. We have over 1,400 elementary-aged children within a two-mile radius of our church property, and that’s not including preschoolers. We are seeking community partners to help us make this dream a reality. The total cost will be approximately $125,000. Would you consider helping us reach our goal so that we can build a safe place for families to bring their children?

What we are already doing: At Northside Nazarene, we offer free children’s clothing to the community through our Baby Room Plus clothing closet. We are open twice a week and there are no income requirements—it’s open to everyone. We also offer spiritual services to the community on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. During the summer we have a co-ed teen/adult intermural soccer league that we call Soccer Church and children’s activities through Kickin’ It.

How you can help:
We would love to have you partner with us in building a playground that would not only allow us to expand our existing services, but would also be open to the public during regular, daily hours (most likely 8 am-8 pm Mon.-Saturday and 1 pm-8 pm on Sundays).
You can do that by donating through the purchase of a Legacy Brick.
