Midcoast Humane has been helping homeless pets in Maine since 1950. Over those
seven decades, dogs, cats and other animals in need have received food, shelter,
medical care, and compassion through the efforts of our dedicated staff and
volunteers. We have placed thousands upon thousands of animals in loving homes.
While we work steadfastly to continue our mission, we are limited by our current facilities. The shelter at Range Road in Brunswick served us well for many years, but we’ve reached a point where our infrastructure is limiting our mission. A modern, sustainable building will enable us to do more lifesaving work for animals—both now and in the decades to come.
We have come a long way since we began to retrofit our future headquarters in March of 2021. The entire interior of the building has been removed, and we have literally started from the ground up. Now, drainage and HVAC systems are in place, our animal care areas are taking shape, and our expanded medical center is coming together. Yes, we’ve come a long way, but we still need the support of our community. This is an exciting time for Midcoast Humane, and we hope you will join us as we build the future together.
Our donor bricks give our supporters the chance to have their sentiments be a lasting part of our legacy as either a part of the brick walkway border for the 4x8 and 8x8 bricks or in the peaceful Memorial Garden for the 12x12 bricks.
