The Karnes County Youth Show Board voted to build a 240' x 80' barn adjacent to our existing show barn earlier this year. Construction of the shell is now complete. This is the first major expansion in KCYS facilities in more than 20 years and it is long overdue.
Past KCYS Boards were excellent stewards of the youth exhibitors' commission monies and put us in a position to construct this building. The kids built the building-now it is the community's turn to outfit it and make other long-needed improvements to the grounds. Expanded parking, improve perimeter fencing for added security, new wash racks, badly-needed upgrades to the sound system, better directional signage, and other improvements are necessary to better tie our existing buildings to the new barn. Once made, we should have a facility that will serve our needs for another couple of decades.
Your past support of the KCYS has benefitted countless youth throughout the years. Your continued support will be appreciated by boys and girls who have yet to ever bake their frist cake, complete a craft, or start fitting an animal for show. We hope you will be part of builidng up our facilties to serve those boys aand girls for decades to come.
