Nestled along Rt. 151 in Roseland, Virginia, Jonesboro Baptist Church, with it's iconic brown cedar shakes, has been a landmark for many generations. First organized in the mid 1850's, the current building was built in 1910. The very flammable, well worn cedar shakes on the building's exterior were replaced this summer with fire retardant vinyl shakes that replicate the original look, are energy efficient, and greatly increase the insulation.
In a desire to be good stewards of what has been handed down to us and preserve the church building for future generations, the congregation moved forward with this large project.
If you feel led to help us in the preservation of this historical building, please consider purchasing a personalized brick to be placed in a wall on the church grounds.
