The History Club of Los Gatos was founded in 1897 when Elizabeth Urquhart brought together a small group of like-minded women who took turns hosting regular meetings in their Los Gatos homes to share information. Topics of discussion started out history-related—both ancient and modern.

Over the years, more women joined the group and discussion topics became more wide-ranging—literature, civics, current events, travel, the arts and music, to name a few.

Faced with an ever-changing world, the History Club continued to fulfill the legacy of our founding members through the decades. Much has changed since the founding members first came together but we are ever mindful of our roots. What has not changed is this—we still come together with a shared vision of commitment to community outreach. We join with each other to meet today's challenges, committed to investing our expertise and resources. 

We also rent the clubhouse facilities for private events. The History Club of Los Gatos offers a warm, inviting setting for weddings and anniversary parties, business off-site meetings and company conferences.

4x8 bricks are for sale for $200 beginning in March 2025. The $200 price is valid until June 1st as an early bird special. After the June 1st deadline, the price will increase to $250. Please order now to take advantage of the early bird price. 

Commemorate a special event, honor a friend or family member, a fellow club member, or memorialize someone special to you or to the club.

Bricks will have space for three inscription lines. Each line can include up to 18 characters per line including spaces and punctuation.

The bricks will be placed in front of the clubhouse, front and center surrounding our sign, which will be on a new base.

Net proceeds will go to clubhouse  capital improvements, approved by the membership.
