Gunter Mountain
Veteran’s Memorial
In honor of
America’s 250th birthday, we will be placing a memorial plaque and monument in
Veteran’s Park across from city hall. This memorial will include a
precision-tooled plaque recognizing veterans from the Grant and Gunter Mountain
area and the wars they have fought in throughout our nation’s history. The base
of the memorial will be constructed of donor-funded bricks etched with the name
of a veteran, their branch of service, war or era of service, and donor’s name.
The purpose of
this memorial is to honor our local veterans. We are inviting local citizens to
participate in creating this memorial by purchasing a brick in recognition of a
veteran they would like to honor. The bricks are $75 for a 4”x8” and $125 for an
8”x8”. The proceeds will go to the funding of the memorial. The fundraising goal
is $10,000. This is completely voluntary. Donations are tax deductible.
Each 4”x8” brick
can hold three lines of text with 18 characters (including spaces) per line.
8”x8” bricks can hold six lines of text with 18 characters on each line. Please
include the following information on each brick:
