Dear CLCC members,
We are very excited to let you know that the CLCC Board has approved a renovation plan for the clubhouse! We have heard your suggestions and now we are ready to embark on project that will make many of them a reality. Here are some of the highlights:
- A top to bottom revamp of the upstairs including refinished and re-stained wood flooring, carpets replaced with laminate flooring, repainted and refreshed walls and columns, and a new ceiling.
- A new look to the bar including a new bar top and a new triple tap kegerator…..no more foam!
- Huge audio/ visual improvements. We already have a new 70” TV installed at the upstairs bar.
- An outdoor gym for pull-ups, dips and many more exercises.
- New outdoor steps leading into the upstairs.
- And much more!
Obviously none of this will be easy, instantaneous or cheap. We are hoping we can count on our members to help us. There are two main ways. Wherever possible, we are going to use volunteers to keep our costs down. Whether you are skilled or not, we can use your assistance. We have been compiling a list of members that are willing to help us out. If you are willing to lend a hand at your convenience, please complete the short questionnaire at this link.
While we are keeping our costs down, there will certainly be costs. We have a new fundraising campaign through brick sales. All the profits from the sale of these bricks will used to fund materials needed for the renovation. Bricks sold through this campaign will be slightly different than the bricks we have sold in the past and all bricks sold for this campaign will be prominently placed together just outside the entrance to the downstairs bar. Even if you have purchased bricks in the past, these bricks will be different and the net proceeds will be used strictly for this renovation project. An order form with details regarding brick purchases can be found here. The size options for the bricks will be the same as previous. We will have 4 x 8 bricks for $100 and 12 x 12 bricks for $150. Even if you do not wish to purchase a brick, we still need your support and direct contributions are gladly accepted. I think you know the drill for CLCC payments, but we accept Venmo (@cedarlakec.com); Zelle (treasurer@cedarlakecc.com) or checks (which can be dropped off in the CLCC/CLLA mailbox at 114 Cedar Lake East).
The brick sale fundraising campaign will run from December 1, 2023 – January 31, 2024. Our goal is to sell 100 bricks in this time period. We do not wish to pester you with an unceasing campaign. We also need an endpoint so we can access the level of financial support received versus the amount necessary to fund our desired improvements
