The Belmar Arts Center embarked on a project that extended well beyond Belmar's 150th birthday, enriching life, music, and art in the borough for years to come. In recognition of their 18 years of generosity and partnership, the Belmar Arts Center sought to honor Stelma Sancious and her son, the internationally renowned multi-instrumentalist, David Sancious, by gifting a remarkable outdoor piano. This high-tech piano found its home in Pyanoe Plaza, becoming a musical hub for the community.
Phase two entails the revitalization of Pyanoe Plaza in the heart of Belmar's Main Street district, and we invite everyone to join us! Belmar introduces its "Buy a Brick" program as we honor David and Stelma Sancious with one of the first outdoor pianos in the United States. By purchasing a brick, you become an integral part of the celebration, ensuring that music resonates throughout Belmar for years to come.
