The Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was established at Fisk University on December 3, 1927, as the 43rd House of Alpha. For nearly a century, Alpha Chi has carried a proud legacy of leadership, scholarship, service, and brotherhood at Fisk, throughout Nashville, and beyond.
This legacy includes Fisk-affiliated Brothers and figures of influence such as W.E.B. Du Bois, renowned historian John Hope Franklin, and Fisk University presidents Charles S. Johnson and Henry Ponder. Across generations, Alpha Chi Brothers have gone on to become judges, attorneys, ministers, scholars, policymakers, doctors, musicians, entrepreneurs, and leaders in technology and public service.
As we approach Alpha Chi’s Centennial, we are renovating the chapter plot to honor the Brothers who built this legacy and the generations who will carry it forward. Each purchased brick will be included in the installation of the new Centennial plot at Fisk University, planned for Fall 2027.
By purchasing a personalized brick, you are helping create a legacy space that celebrates the history, impact, and future of the 43rd House of Alpha. Join us as we continue moving Onward and Upward, one brick at a time.
