VFW Post 5573 of Starkville, Mississippi is making needed improvements to our
facility. We have recently completed renovation of our kitchen and upgraded its
equipment to include a new oven, microwave, electric cooktop and refrigerator.
To improve the exterior of the facility, a crushed rock parking lot has been
added to the front area. Plans are now underway to move the two existing
flagpoles to the center area of the front lawn. This will be the focal point of
a honor/memorial patio and walkway made of brick pavers. These pavers are to be
inscribed with individual information of service men and women who have served
or are serving in the Armed Forces of the United States. We are offering this
opportunity to donate one of these pavers to honor/remember a loved one, friend,
or colleague. VFW Post 5573 is a 501 (c)(4) charitable organization, and these
donations would be tax deductible.
Donations for this patio project will purchase these inscribed pavers and pay
for their installation. Excess funds will allow further improvements to the
front lawn to include landscaping. We expect to set aside 20% of these excess
funds for contributions to the local Veterans Home in Kosciusko and our National
Widows and Children’s Home.
We are looking forward to makin our Post an attractive landmark for the
community.
