Southern Jackson County Community Foundation (SJCCF) is dedicated to establishing a self supporting community center at the site of the old Kenna Elementary School, which was vacated in 2013 upon opening of a new school building. In honor of the Greene family, whose generosity led to this opportunity, the center has been named Greene Center. To ensure that the years the site served our community as an elementary school are always remembered, in honor/memory of all the students who attended school here, and in honor/memory of all Kenna Elementary teachers, service personnel, administrators, and volunteers dedicated to education, a Memory Walkway will be established in front of the building from the parking lot to the front entrance walk. SJCCF, as participants in Jackson County’s Charity Challenge 2018, will conduct this fundraiser that will allow individuals to purchase personalized engraved bricks to be used in construction of the walkway. Support of the community is essential for the success of our Memory Walkway, as well as for the successful opening and operation of the Greene Center.
