Thank You for visiting Bricks For Balluffs
				website.

This site is in honor of The Balluff
				Family.
				The morning of October 31st,
2009, the Balluff family’s lives were changed forever.
Their 18 year old son was walking
with some friends to another friends apartment, when Alex became
the victim of a hit and run, drunk driver.
Along with a bruised kidney, bruised
spleen, cuts, bumps and bruises, Alex sustained a Traumatic
				Brain Injury.
Alex spent several weeks in The
Neuro-Head and Trauma Unit, a 2 hour drive from home.
				After several weeks Alex was
transferred to an Acute Inpatient Rehab Facility, closer to
				home.

In December of 2009, Alex was able to go
home, where he now needs care 24/7.
Due to the Tr aumatic Brain Injury,
Alex’s short-term memory is very limited.
After Alex was released to go home,
he did in home therapy, which he has since completed.
Alex’s parents are now going through
the rigors of getting Alex into an outpatient therapy rehab.
				Alex is currently undergoing
				Hyperbaric Therapy Treatment.
Because it is a new form of therapy
for Brain Injury patients, insurances will not cover the cost of
				this treatment.
It is working, Alex has shown
				amazing signs of progress.

				There are tremendous financial obligations
with the treatments, rehabs and equipment that needs to be used
to help Alex learn to live independently at some point.
This website will be kept open for as long as
it takes to help relieve some of the financial burdens that the
Balluff’s have incurred since this incident occurred.

The bricks will be put to use; however, the
Balluff Family has not decided on how to use them.
				Whether it’s a walkway,
a piece of a tranquil garden that
they can just go to and relax, or around a basketball court.
