Waterford Veteran’s, “Path of Honor”

V.F.W Post 6573

Waterford, Connecticut 06385

In 1997, the Town of Waterford erected and dedicated a Veteran’s Memorial Green at the intersection of Route 156 and Route 1 in Waterford, Connecticut. This beautifully landscaped memorial is there to serve as a dedication and acknowledgement to all of the men and women who have served in the armed forces of the United States.

In the summer of 2007, a group of Waterford Veteran’s and members of the Waterford VFW Post 6573 met with the First Selectman and proposed a new idea to enhance the memorial to add to its beautification. The intention is to take the existing bricks that provide a walk-way around the green and memorial and have them engraved with the names of Waterford Veterans or those who have a tie to the Town of Waterford through their respective families. Thus the project has come to fruition and is honorably entitled the “Path of Honor”.

Brick purchases will cover the cost of the brick and any excess monies will be used solely for the continued enhancement of the memorial site.
