Campaign for UVI

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is at a pivotal moment in its history, advancing along a path to greatness. To mark this, UVI is pleased to launch a permanent, physical Pathway to Greatness with its Buy a Brick Program. You can help pave the Pathways to Greatness by purchasing a brick, and by so doing you will also be contributing to Campaign for UVI, the fundraising effort that will support the next steps UVI needs to take to achieve true greatness.

UVI has amassed an impressive track record of achievements. Its dedication to student success has produced a Pulitzer Prize winner, a mathematician who discovered two new prime numbers, Rhodes scholars, Thurgood Marshall Scholars, scientists, professionals, entrepreneurs, and heads of state who are leaders in the region and the world.  Its commitment to excellence propels outstanding teaching and scholarship, high quality academic programs, and cutting edge research.  Its pledge to advance the broader community spurs initiatives ranging from its Global Institute for Leadership and Management Development held each summer, to its partnership with the National Science Foundation and local education, government, and business communities to promote the development of the Territory’s science and technology resources.

The Buy a Brick Program, as part of the Campaign for UVI, provides the resources needed to take UVI farther on its Pathways to Greatness.

 The brick program has three sites:   

A.   Location A - On the Albert Sheen Campus, St. Croix, east of the residence hall on the southern side of the entrance from the Queen Mary Highway to the campus.

B.   Location B - On St. Thomas, on the upper campus to the south of the School of Nursing.

C.   Location C - Also on St. Thomas, leading up to the Reichhold Center for the Arts box office.

Funds raised by sale of the bricks at Location C will go to support the Reichhold Center. Funds from the other two locations will support UVI’s areas of greatest need. In either case, funds will be counted toward the goals of the Campaign for UVI, and will be tax-deductible in the amount allowed by the IRS.

Location A:  Next to Palm Drive on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix 

Location B:  Upper campus crosswalk south of the School of Nursing on the St. Thomas campus

Location C:  Reichhold Center box office on the St. Thomas campus

Your Pathways to Greatness brick can be in celebration of an occasion, including birthdays, weddings, graduation dates, in memory of someone, or just bare you name. 

Additionally, organizations and associations, including sororities, fraternities, rotary clubs and class organizations may purchase a brick to show their organization’s support for UVI.

We have two sizes of bricks to choose from: 4 by 8 inches or 8 by 8 inches. You may personalize the brick with your own name or message. Each size of brick has a maximum number of available lines and characters or spaces per line. Messages should be positive and are subject to review and approval by UVI.

If you would like a donor certificate sent to you, suitable for framing, add an additional $10 per brick.

In order to guarantee placement, orders much be received with full payment by February 26th. A proof of the brick text will be sent to you of the brick text will be sent to you. Once approved, the bricks themselves will be sent directly to UVI for installation.
