Dear Patrick Henry Students, Alumnae, and
Friends
A high school is far more than bricks and
mortar, desks and chairs, teachers and books. It is the place where
we made the transition from dependence to independence, and became
responsible for our own lives.
It was there that we learned the things that
became important in our lives. It was there that we made new
friends and ventured out into new areas, perhaps daring to take the
stage for the first time, giving your
all to a sport, or falling in love for the first time. Proms,
homecoming, exams, labs and fire drills may be part of today,
yesterday or tomorrow - but they all are part of the people we are
today.
The old Patrick Henry High School is in the
process of being demolished, and a beautiful new school is rising in
its place.
To preserve our past, and provide much needed
support to the Patrick Henry Band, we are offering you an
opportunity to set in stone your fond remembrances of Patrick Henry
High School. We are selling engraved bricks which will be set
outside of the new school.
Bricks are offered in two sizes. For $60, you
can purchase a 4” x 8” brick, with three engraved lines and 18
characters per line. For $100, you can
purchase an 8” x 8” brick with six engraved lines, 18 characters per
line. Punctuation marks count as characters and all letters will be
capitalized.
It is up to you what you have engraved on your
bricks, but this is a wonderful way to remember your high school
years, a favorite teacher, a lost friend or even your
children. The text must be appropriate in language and may not be
religious in nature.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for
you to leave a permanent mark on your alma mater, one that will be
there for your children and grandchildren to share.
