Children’s Youth Sport Needs Your
Help!
After having lost our Race Track in Pomona, CA. (After 50 Years)
do to city construction, Orange Show Quarter Midgets (the only
Southern California Quarter Midget Club), are fortunate to have
been given some land (from the National Orange Show Fairgrounds,
in San Bernardino, CA.) to build a Race Track for Children 5-17
years old to Race again!
Our
Mission is to provide
children an avenue in which to participate in an activity that
helps develop skills that are useful and also competitive, with
a training ground for boys and girls who enjoy driving quarter
midgets in a safe and secure venue. The bonding of these
children in this joint endeavor is just what is needed into
today’s society!
More
benefits include:
It is a
family sport. Few
other sports involve members of the family to participate so
much. Kids drive, Dads are the pit crew and chief mechanics,
and Moms volunteer to assist with scoring, timing, and club
duties.
It
teaches the meaning of sportsmanship.
It
develops coordination, a sense of timing, team work.
It
teaches self-reliance.
Once the green flag is dropped, the kids are on their own.
It is
competitive. Kids
learn how to play hard, and that rules must be observed.
Kids
develop knowledge & appreciation for mechanical devices.
It
teaches safe driving & develops good driving skills.
This level of skill will be invaluable when they become adults.
They learn there is a place to race an automobile, which is not
on the public highway systems where so many young lives are lost
each year.
It
develops a sense of responsibility.
Alertness and a concern for the safety of others are acquired.
This
sport gives children a well-earned right to a sense of pride of
accomplishment. Kids have been known to stand just a little taller & are a little
more confident after becoming a Midget driver. This
confidence & sense of belonging to a group could someday be
factors in helping kids “say no to drugs”.
*This Youth
Sport is how most NASCAR Drivers got their start!
*There
are currently over 4,000 Children Drivers Nationally in Quarter
Midgets of America. We had 135 Children come to our last "Arrive
& Drive", where children can come and test drive our Quarter
Midgets.
We are currently trying to complete construction on the new Race
Track for Children to Race again. Estimates to construct the
Track are over $100,000. The work to date was made possible by
generous donations of money, materials and labor from Club
Members, Families, Friends and Businesses. We are fortunate to
have a Company that is willing to Match this “Buy a
Brick” Program.
A way of providing a
generous gift while leaving your name or message for your family
and friends to see for many years is through the “Buy a
Brick” program. The 4” x 8” bricks will be prominently
placed on the Track’s Finish Line (only 60
Bricks available) and on a
Walk Way around the Race Track.
The Finish
Line Bricks are $300 each, and the Walk Way
Bricks are $150 each and can have up to three lines of
engraved text (18 Characters per Line).
You can have your Logo Engraved for an additional $58. Provide
your Logo in an EPS or TIF file.
We are a Non-Profit
Youth Organization. All Donations are tax-deductible.
All donations from brick sales will go into paying the costs of
constructing the Children’s Race Track.
Take part in a project that is being built for the Benefit of
Children and Families. A place that Quarter Midget Racing can
take pride in. A place our children and grandchildren will use
for many, many years.
Commemorate that special event in someone's life, honor a friend
or family member, or memorialize someone special!
