New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church”

The New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church is in the process of establishing the New Life Center. This property is formerly known as the Guys and Dolls Lounge. The New Life Center will have the effect of lowering the high rate of illegal activities in this area. It will reduce the amount of police calls and criminal activity in the neighborhood, therefore allowing improved police response time to other emergencies.

The New Life Center’s mission is to offer unwavering support through service for the community, friends of the community, and all concerned citizens. We will offer a safe haven for the hosting of these services including the following: Health programs (health screenings, blood drive, etc.), Educational programs (before/after school, literacy programs, career preparation programs), and Social Events (seniors, banquets, concerts, wedding receptions, anniversaries, reunions, etc.).

To help fund this mission, we are in the process of establishing a Wall of Faith, and a Walk of Faith as a lasting way to give thanks to God for your business, commemorate a special event in someone's life, honor a friend or family member, or to memorialize someone special.

The bricks will outline the driveway between the sidewalk and building on the west side of the Center adjacent to Grant St. The wall will be constructed along the front of the building. It will stretch between the front steps and the side ramp entrance.

Minimum donation is $50 for a four by eight inch brick and $150 for an eight by eight inch brick. Businesses may purchase a 12 X12 for $250. The 4x8 brick will have space for three lines, eighteen characters per line and the 8x8 brick will have space for six lines, 18 characters per line.

The net proceeds from all brick sales will go toward the establishment of the building and services for the New Life Center.
