Funds are being raised to build
a veterans memorial which will be located in Mitchell’s
Centennial park. The Memorial will serve as a tribute to all
those who have served our great country. Many men and

women have served our country
and many have died defending our freedoms. This memorial will
recognize those who have served and help us remember those that
gave the ultimate sacrifice. The Memorial will also serve as a
reminder of the dangers we continue to face today.
When completed, the Memorial
will be located on the south side of Centennial park between the
parking lot and the picnic table shelter. The memorial will have
flags representing all branches of our military. Personalized
bricks purchased by contributors will be incorporated into walk
around and sitting area. This is just one phase of improvements
that are being done to our park.
