Madison West High School
The Ash Street Project
PLEASE ACT TODAY -
Madison West has proudly served as a home and community for
generations of students and their families. The educational
quality at West High remains strong; the spirit remains vibrant.
With passion and wisdom Principal Ed Holmes guides a new
generation of students as they preserve a legacy of excellence,
friendship and citizenship.
While the education is stellar, the facilities are showing their
age. Students, faculty and neighbors shared ideas and
aspirations. These were the basis of an inspired landscaping
plan of Ken Saiki ’72 completed in Summer 2009.
The school district generously allocated funds for the
renovation and revitalization of the Ash Street entrance. To
complete the initiative and create a truly dynamic landscape, we
all must join in.
While over 1,000 alumni, students, parents, faculty and friends
responded generously to our initial appeal, there is plenty of
room for additional bricks. These funds will be added to the
Madison West High Endowment Fund for faculty educational and
academic initiatives.
Celebrate your class reunion or family milestone: consider
paying tribute by honoring individuals or the memory of love
ones by reserving one or more engraved pavers (bricks) that will
be placed in the new Ash Street Plaza.
We encourage classes and families to collectively purchase the
12x12 paver for the Class Walk.
You can print out a practice worksheet to test various paver
wording or use this form to submit a mail order (click here).
Please act today. We will install new orders periodically
through the 2009-2010 year.
