Building
the Foundations
Thank you for
supporting the LCA Band Program!
The LCA Band program has grown
tremendously this past year. With the opening of our new 44,000
sq. ft. facility last
year
that included a new band room, we anticipate more students
interested in developing musically. With our current band
students, we already have a shortage of brass and percussion
instruments. Many of these instruments are well beyond the
ability of an individual to purchase and our present instruments
are in desperate need of repairs. We were fortunate enough this
past year to have Candler Oil donate a box truck to the band
that is now large enough to carry our instruments and uniforms.
As LCA continues to expand, we expect to reach full capacity
this coming school year.
Our “Building the Foundations” campaign is an exciting
continuing project that allows you to become a permanent link
from our past into our future. The pavement adjacent to the new
band room contains brick pavers engraved with personal messages
of those who have contributed and provides the opportunity to:
• Express gratitude to someone special,
• Memorialize a special event,
• Honor a friend, loved one, or perhaps a favorite teacher,
• Congratulate a graduate, or
• Advertise your support for quality education in the arts
This past year, our marching band
performed
in
our community Christmas
parades in Altavista and Appomattox, and in numerous
competitions from Danville to Powhatan. Our symphonic band
concerts are free and open to the public. We also had the
privilege this past year to be invited to the Gator Bowl in
Jacksonville, Florida to perform at the halftime show. This was
a great
time for the entire band.
LCA is a tax-exempt 501(C)3 non-profit organization.
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
