A “THANK YOU" JUST
ISN'T ENOUGH
Help us—the residents of the Mississippi
Gulf Coast—say a heartfelt "thank you" to all the volunteers,
named and unnamed, who risked their own livelihoods to help
recover our own.
When
we were down, they were there for us—coming by the thousands
from every state of the Union and many foreign countries as
well. They still continue to come surrendering spring breaks,
vacations, retirement time and even suspending businesses,
careers, and investment ventures.
The Katrina Volunteer Memorial Fountain
will be a 30 foot Egyptian style obelisk at the Mississippi
Welcome Center off Highway I-10 in western Hancock County. The
location represents the gateway to the Gulf Coast and lies at
the border between Louisiana and Mississippi and will therefore
be available to visitors from both states, which suffered so
horribly from Hurricane Katrina.
Bricks will line a pathway around the
Memorial Fountain. They are available for $100.00 for a 4X8 and
175.00 for an 8X8. Be a part of this permanent memorial to
thank the volunteers for rebuilding our lives, homes, and
dreams!
