The Duck Creek Pop Warner Football League (DCPW)
and the Village of Suamico are partnering together for the
development of a new 20+ acre multi-use park in the Village of
Suamico.
Growth in the Village of Suamico and surrounding communities has
stressed the ability for existing parks to meet the needs of the
community and youth sports organizations to have quality fields
in a safe atmosphere. Village budget constraints and scrutiny
from taxpayers make it exceedingly difficult to expand the
current park systems with very limited public funding.
Individually, neither DCPW, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization,
nor the Village have the resources to develop a park on their
own, but by developing a collaborative partnership between DCPW,
and the Village combined with your support creates a powerful
team that can benefit from the strength and resources of each
group to make this park a reality.
The Village of Suamico will provide over 20 acres of land to
allow this multi-use park to become a reality and DCPW will
raise the initial seed funding and manage Phase 1 of the
development process. In addition, the Village will provide all
associated ongoing park and field maintenance ensuring longevity
and security for the future of the park. This multi-use park for
the community will support numerous sports including football,
soccer, lacrosse as well as many community events providing
significant exposure and recognition for sponsors’ generous
donations.
Phase 1 of the park development includes four fields. Two
groomed “playing” fields and two “practice” fields for football,
soccer and lacrosse; a concession stand and facilities, road
access from with suitable parking. The park has room for four
additional fields for a total of 8 fields to accommodate future
growth. We are seeking park sponsors and grant money to raise
$450,000 with a goal of breaking ground by the spring of 2009
and completing phase 1 in 2010.
The result of the park development will be a new park that
provides additional playing and practice fields for DCPW, Howard
Suamico Youth Soccer Association, Lacrosse America and other
youth sports and community organizations. It will also provide
recognition for sponsors for generous donations to make this
park a reality. In addition, it will improve currently unused
land and increase the value of land of local property owners.
