In August 2008, our community will open a
new elementary school, Cub Run, which will serve over 500
students residing in Rockingham County.
Cub Run will draw students from four area schools and many of
the children are apprehensive about the change. Studies have
shown that play reduces fear, anxiety and stress, enhances
feelings of acceptance of difference, helps establish positive
connections and builds strong learning foundations. Recess
provides opportunity for play and exercise in the student’s day.
Creating and constructing a playground is an important part of
establishing the new community of learners at Cub Run.
The school district budget does not include enough funds for the
development of a playground that can provide multiple play
stations and meet the needs of the new school’s large
population. In order to bridge that gap, the Cub Run PTA
playground committee has undertaken the task of soliciting local
funding and constructing a playground that will benefit the
community.
We need your support to complete this project. The Cub Run PTA
Playground Committee would like to offer you an opportunity to
invest in the future of the children at this new school by
making a donation to the fund. Your donation will be recognized
on a personalized brick to be placed near the playground area.
There is room for many personalized bricks and you have the
chance to make a donation that will last a lifetime.
Pave the way for the Cub Run Playground and create a lasting
tribute to your family members, friends, neighbors or a much
loved teacher, staff member or principal.
