Sally Becker Johnson was a Phi Mu initiated in the earliest days of the Alpha Nu Chapter and is a role model for all Alpha Nus past, present, and future when it comes to commitment, dedication and generosity. Out of her love for Phi Mu, she lived her lifelong pledge to our sisterhood by donating the publication of our Chapter Association newsletter three times a year through the printing business she and her husband owned and operated. In 2003, Sally passed away and in her honor, her husband continued printing the newsletter until he sold the business in 2004.

As we do every year at Camp Alpha Nu, we honored the alumnae we have lost that year and in 2003, we remembered Sally. We want to do more for Sally and other alumnae who are no longer with us and thought having a fountain in the back courtyard to commemorate her commitment to the meaning, spirit & reality of Phi Mu would be appropriate.

As multiple efforts to raise funds for this fountain have recently failed, a new idea emerged. It was a great way to both raise funds for the fountain for Sally and a wonderful way to beautify our back courtyard while giving all Phi Mus a way to leave their own legacy at the Alpha Nu Chapter house. It is for these purposes that we proudly give all Alpha Nus the opportunity to leave their own legacy through purchasing a personalized brick that will eventually become a beautiful pavered patio in the back area of the chapter house. As time goes on, we will continue to make bricks available to all generations of Alpha Nus, hopefully extending our courtyard to a sidewalk leading from the back parking lots to the patio of the house and perhaps even to the front sidewalk. Additional funds raised after the fountain has been purchased will assist the soon-to-be-formed housing corporation and the wishes of the chapter house through the Alpha Nu Chapter Association. Please join us in making our vision for a new courtyard a reality by purchasing a brick today! It will help beautify our Phi Mu castle at the University of Florida.
